Santa Barbara, CA. January, 2007 – Vetronix Bosch
Group is pleased to announce an agreement with Daimler Chrysler that will
enable the company to add Event Data Recorder (EDR) download capability
for North American Chrysler vehicles to its Crash Data Retrieval System
(CDR) product. The addition of Chrysler vehicles to the software now enables
accident reconstructionists and law enforcement agencies access to download
crash data from select Chrysler Vehicles. This will supplement the already-existing
support for General Motors and Ford vehicles.
Vetronix Bosch Group is the sole source manufacturer for the Crash Data
Retrieval System. The CDR System provides accident reconstructionists
with the ability to supplement or verify eyewitness accounts and other
traditional reconstruction methodologies with data that may be stored
within a vehicles Restraint Control Module (RCM) or Sensing Diagnostic
Module (SDM). The CDR tool was initially launched in 2000 with support
for select General Motors Vehicles. In 2003, support for select Ford vehicles
was added. Support for Chrysler vehicles is currently being added to the
product and is expected to become available mid-2007. The company’s
goal is also to include support for other domestic and worldwide manufacturers
in the near future.
The addition of this coverage will allow accident reconstructionists,
law enforcement agencies and the National Highway Transportation Administration
to obtain electronic crash data from more vehicles than was previously
possible through the Crash Data Retrieval System.
